Absolutely horrendous for the Ducks. If Trevling would be able to pull off the Ducks trade......he should be given a place in "Leaf Heaven" forever. Then if were to trade the 2nd overall for Mangiapaine he should given a place in " Leaf Hell" forever

so here is one example, i made a trade with the sens, to bring connor brown back to to. Gave up 2nd, roster player & a prospect.
The fans said no way , he is worth more then than that. then they picked up claude, time to go for just a 2nd.

What purpose does Anaheim have to trade out a budding star, a potential franchise center, and a near as makes no difference first round pick to get a guy who is going to want 13+ AAV on his next deal, and has ALL of the negotiating power thanks to the full NMC that was given to him? Especially when we won't be real cup competitors during his remaining deal?

The rest of the GMs also learned the folly of Toronto paying players way too much money and how that sinks a team in the playoffs because you can't afford the needed depth.

I see that there is still an appreciable segment of the Toronto fanbase that believes, despite the proof -- proof, not evidence, proof -- that building a team around All-Stars instead of setting in place a broad foundation is doomed to failure (and failure since 2016), that there are GMs around the League that will trade young, high-quality talent under team control for many years in exchange for one or two seasons of a hideously overpriced cap-sucking star.

Simply stating a fact. If you are too daft to grasp that, that's on you. Also more often than not it's your fanbase trying to offload your players to us, not vice versa. Frankly I don't think the two teams are good trade partners because I don't think Hanifin will want to extend with Toronto either.
