What would be your realistic package from the Devils?

Could we give you a 25 2nd, or a 24 3rd and 5th for Sharangovich? 40 overall in a stacked draft is too good to give up with how depleted our prospect pool is right now

I just can't see him getting traded. He's making far less than he should this year and is a big piece in all facets of the Bruins' game.

Bruins would be interested in Holtz/Mercer, but Devils aren't giving them up so I dont see them being a good partners

I agree with this, theres a big difference between a realistic package vs what Bruins/fans would actually want. Its unlikely JD is the victim of Bostons cap casuality, there are other guys theyd move prior to him. Mercer and Holtz are pretty intriguing, but ik Devils fans wont want them moved

I've seen there are rumors that he is being "shopped around", but I think that is more teams calling the Bruins about him, which seems to happen every year. I don't see a world where a 31 year old Taylor Hall and his $6m cap hit stays on the team and JD gets moved.

Well definitely not Mercer. Mercer is younger, cheaper, and already the better player. Holtz- I don’t think they trade for a guy like DeBrusk especially with him a year away from UFA but who knows

The B´s are in desperate need of a future no.1 C and only have 'so and so' many pieces to execute that... like DeBrusk, Lysell, Lohrei and one of their goalies... so they´ll not dish away DeBrusk for 2:nd and 3:rd round value.

Disagree that Mercer is the better player atm, but he certainly holds more value, not going to argue that. Bruins will be in a much better cap situation next year, I think he'll end up re-signing

Mercer already beat DeBrusk’s career high in points in his 2nd year in the league

Trading Walsh and a 2nd for a rental winger seems counterproductive.
Wouldn't it be better to offer that for Tanev or DeMelo so that the Devils wouldn't have to deal with *checks notes* Travis Hamonic lmao

Well it's a good thing points aren't the only thing we judge players on. If I get the choice of one of the two for a season, I'm taking Debrusk and his more complete game. More than a year is a different story for sure
