going with Pesce to VAn then more

Description
basically canes just get a 1 year contract to fill the 3LW spot (its unlikely martinook repeats) or we wait for a nice cap dump that we can fit in there. Whichever comes first. If not thing, we bring up a young player like rees to play 4RW, sign patches to a deal, and see how it goes.

The Canes seem set to bring the 3 man band of goalies back. That is why that looks like that.

Defense takes a little hit buy we are bigger and meaner. Risto isnt near as bad in a structured system under torts as he was the previous years without him. His penalties should come down going to a 2nd pair that had a 52% CF instead of the 42% he played in Philly. Its another Skjei esque move, just a lower starting point. But Im expecting for plenty of hate for taking on Risto but its okay.

Generally would love to take advantage of the high value of Skjei too and solve that issue for the future as well.

I don't see the Canucks giving up their 2023 first for Pesce. Maybe in a pick swap but even then I doubt it

I'm not interested in the Pesce trade. But I have no idea if management would be.

yea the fan base on here seems to be divided on a trade built around 11 OA for Pesce. I can understand that.

Buggers... that 11OA to WPG makes this tough to pass up. The verdict isn't in on Drury yet, so taking him out of the scenario. I like Beauvillier a lot.

Hmmmm... Ya, WPG takes this deal. The 11OA could yield a steal of a top D pairing guy or a top 6 forward that will be as valuable, if not more valuable than PLD.

I like pesce but Canucks need to stock pile young players. Can’t go trading the 1st for a 28 yr old

i wrestled with what to do with the pick. I would love to keep the pick too and try and trade a better package to Winnipeg. I went easy and just gave up the pick.

I agree that Risto is butt however I want to keep him to be our Tank Commander. He automatically gives us a better draft pick n the future so might as well hold onto him for at least another year

Risto was pretty good this year. Torts changed his game and he did a lot better. I think we will take it to the next level.

I mean yeah he was better defensively and I hope you are right but he is a below average defender with 0 offense now. Hopefully he takes another step under Torts though and we can get some assets back for him at some point

offense does kinda die with Torts and at the same time Torts changed his defensive game completely so I can see why he would struggle in another area. Either way trying to jump in and replace pesce instead of having to pay these FA prices.

I mean definitely fair, not a lot of great RHD and most will probably cost an arm and a leg

Pesce certainly isn't worth that to the Canucks. But really more crazy extension talk just to make a trade.
