Straight up, not enough. Pesce needs to return Bouchard, or else Carolina will just go and get a better return

I really dont see Pesce who will be 29 early into next season and on an expiring contract due for a raise getting Bouchard, 24 early next year, who was fantastic in the playoffs. Broberg I can potentially see.

Don't you think if Yamamoto for Futures was indeed ultimately the trade...that it would have happened already? Why push that off unless there're picks involved?

Pesce has been a core piece of a Stanley Cup contender for years. If he's coming with an extension, like you suggest here, it's not going to be for anything less. Carolina can go to Buffalo and pick up Joki, 13th overall + and won't have to eat anything like that awful Ceci deal. It's going to cost Bouchard for a top pairing defensive specialist. Look at what it cost for Ekholm, but Pesce is younger AND is Right handed. I will continue to make the argument Pesce is among the 10 best RHD in the NHL. You're not getting him for Broberg, it's gotta be Bouchard. If not, Toronto will pay up, Buffalo will pay up.

I feel like you are going to be surprised by how valuable the Canes think he is.

how valuable the canes think he is, and the return he will get back are 2 different things. I just think you are setting yourself up for disappointment

Why would Carolina trade him if they aren't getting back what the value him at? There will be multiple teams interested in Pesce. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean others don't. Pesce has been one of the best analytical defensemen in the NHL for more than half a decade, and he's only really rivaled among RHDFD by Pulock, and he's still better. Stop. Look at what a Mattias Ekholm, whose 3 steps away from a retirement home in Gothenberg got at the trade deadline. Pesce is better, has the more favorable handedness, is the right side of 30, and would be coming with an extension...

I'm not saying they should nor am I saying multiple teams wont be interested. The oilers gave up a late first, a 4th, a prospect and got the barrie contract off their books. Bouchard+ or Joki, 13OA+ like you are suggesting, is a better return and you should know by now that TDL trades are more inflated.

While the deadline is inflated, just given that Pesce is a righty, as opposed to a lefty, justifies asking for that package. Combine that with the more favorable extension, age, and the fact he is MILES better, you can definitely get it
