Interesting....

Couturier is back and skating, team didnt allow him to play the last 10 or so games of 22-23. Hes exactly what MTL needs if hes indeed healthy. Just not sure Anderson is what PHI needs. Sure he has value and so does Harris, but in the lineup above Harris is in lineup but Helge Grans/Attard aren;t and you've moved RD Ristolinen for LD mcDonagh and kept deangelo. And PHI takes the cap dump of Armia.

Just not sure any of those 3 pieces is what PHI wants/needs. Only Harris is probably of interest.

I think PHI would rather have risto than Macdonagh, because risto is a fine 2nd pairing guy, whereas the 1st pair you have above is just plain bad.
And you've kept healthy Atkinson on LTIR and bought out Deslauriers, so really getting another winger, let alone 2 in anderson and armia makes little sense.
Foerster isn;t a 4th line center, hes a top 2 line winger.
Desnoyers or Brink are 2 wingers who are ready-ish
Hayes is definitely gone and probably is deangelo
And I just cant see them taking these cap dumps and then not using some of their remaining space (4+mil)

Honestly not sure how to process the nashville trade.

On one end, risto is younger but mcd is still pretty good defensively.
Riso is cheaper but 1 year longer on contract.
Switching out a lhd for a rhd wouldve made more sense for nashville if we still had ekholm but Stastney is looking nhl ready so it makes room for him but then we have fabbro, carrier, risto, barrie, Livingstone down the right side so 2 need to go but that could be arranged.

I guess i might do it.... if nothing else it is something to contemplate and it is something completely different.

As a Habs fan Id do this. Great alternative to PLD but I dont think the Flyers accept this, Armia should be swapped for a valuable asset.

Edit: Nevermind I just looked at Couturier's contract and no thanks. He hasnt played in like two years and that contract will age horribly. Unfortunately I think he has negative value, for some reason I thought he was younger

I'd say NSH declines this. Not because the value is unfair or anything, but just too full on the right side. If Risto could play either side, then sure. But as far as I'm aware he can't. If NSH brings in a defenseman it is likely either a prospect or someone who plays left side.

Hughes LITERALLY said he ain't signing players over the age of 28 to long term contracts for FREE on free agency and you think he'll pay for one ?! Lolololol

let me get this right. Jordan Harris NCAA captain of Northeastern, Jake Evans NCAA captain of Notre Dame, and Josh Anderson who they reportedly turned down a 1st for.($8.6M)

for injury ridden 30 year old Sean Coutourier($7.75M) (that's only $850K change) signed on that until he's 37?

Why does this work for Mtl who took a 1st just to take Monahan's $6M for 1 year? That's way too big of a risk, and a huge loss imo. I'd like to know however, why he's an enticing player.

Sean will retire with that contract, and he'll do it in orange and black or burgundy and black.
