Exactly, with big wages like Helly, PLD and Scheifle being traded. There should be plenty of money in the budget for others to sign.

I see no reason for the Jets to pay to dump Wheeler. Hang onto him and let him go for nothing next summer, or if he has a good season but Winnipeg is out of contention, they might even be able to get something for him at the deadline with Winnipeg retaining 50% and a third team retaining another 25%. At $2.05M cap hit, somebody might think he's worth a couple of mid-round picks for their playoff run.
