Did you forget to add like Pesce or something going back to Detroit? Like what is this trade?

laugh Sorry but Detroit doesn't have any cap issues for the foreseeable future, Giving up the 17th pick along with Ben Chiarot is totally moronic. Add Brett Pesce to the deal. And we'd have to think about it hard and long.

i have never seen anyone like the chairot signing. He is a cap dump and a half. With all their cap space the canes would be a perfect match.

The team with the fourth most cap space is dumping cap? Makes absolutely zero sense at all. Don't like the signing but we aren't paying to dump him. Also he brings an element of toughness which we lack. So basically we are not paying to dump him, to think we would you would have to be really disconnected from the reality of the red wings.

Ah yes, Detroit Red Wings (with 31M in capspace) should definitely worry about dumping cap!!!

Detroit has less than 0 need to be dumping cap, and as such won't be. The draft pick is more valuable than the 4.7 million they clear up given their current cap situation

I think you're missing the point, though. Carolina should definitely do this!!!

Despite Chiarots contract being a bad one, the Wings have plenty of cap space to absorb it and then some. They are no zero need to pay out a 1st round pick to unload it.

How about Carolina give Detroit Pesce and their 1st round pick (30th OA) to unload his cap hit...we'll send you back a 7th round pick (201st OA) for your cooperation.

DET Doesn’t need to dump cap and you also made the canes worse. Awful trade for both teams.

It's just bad asset management to use a high 1st to move a guy that isn't a problem. Sure he's overpaid but Detroit has cap to burn.
