You'd better have an amazing scouting department. 5 3rds is good if you hit on some. The odds are not in your favor.

I doubt CHI is overpaying to trade up this year. I think they are comfortable enough with the depth of this draft to stay with all their existing picks. But, on draft day, if someone is available that they like enough, I could see them maybe overpaying a bit to get them.

EDM and MTR trades are unfavorable for PIT.

Guentzel Rust Letang Murray all 3 rounds picks that help win back to back cups. Then there is A Hill A Cirelli who also won a cup recently. It is just finding these guy and more picks you better change the scouting department hits on somebody like this. Pens farm system is so bad but that is the price you pay for actually winning

I think this is more than half likely. Yes the org needs depth and talent everywhere but there's already a lot of guys in the pipeline, so if you have the chance on draft day to turn two 2nds into a low 1st and there's a guy you want...why wouldn't they do it.

Huh? You wanna look at the trade again? haha. Anyway, that is pretty much what I said. On draft day, if there is someone there they want, I could see them doing it. But, I don't think they do it otherwise, definitely not ahead of time. If this trade happens before the draft, they aren't gonna overpay.
