Why bother with the Hawks trade? Just keep Myers in the AHL as a injury/depth piece as he cost you nothing and I doubt the Hawks have any interest given 3 expensive RHD and a couple depth options of their own. Word is Jones will not be qualified...so if you want him for a 6th....sure. Or just waiting until he is a UFA.

Myers actually costs against the cap next year and is a RHD (we have too many) and we need a LHD. Jones is going to walk as a UFA too so it’s a return for someone they wouldn’t get anything for originally

Opps....for some reason I though Myers was just above league minimum. He would still cost 500K in the A. Problem for the Hawks is they have Jones, Murphy, Zaitsev as expensive RHD and would like to get Regula some NHL ice and Mitchell still to be determined. A 6th and an ECHL level prospects to clutter a position you have enough numbers at doesn't make sense even if the value might be right.

The main point is we dump Myers contract to maximize cap space so i dont think the lightning will have interest in just Jones. ideally we get OEL for < 1 million but i have a suspiscion hes going to Boston

Bolts don’t rly have the flexibility for any cap hits in the AHL even if it’s less than League min
