Not giving up that' package to Winnipeg. PLD barely fits this teams time line window, Helly doesn't match it at all

Honestly, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Getting one of Smith/Carlsson/Michkov would be too good to pass up.

It’s actually kind of interesting also, if mtl can tie a helly extension in and flip him to nj for a package. Ya 5oa I would be all about most anything.

Connor Hellebuyck isn't wasting his time on a cellar dweller team in Montreal, He doesn't want to play in Canada. And he's definitely not accepting a trade there period.

What in the world is their timeline window then acvording to you? PLD is one year older than Suzuki and 2 years older than Caufield.

He doesn't have any say whatsoever where Chevy can send him. The most he can do is say he won't sign an extension.

Not clear why MTL would want a package from NJ that WPG wouldn't want.

He'll give Chevy a 3-4 list of teams in the States that he's willing to sign long term with, Basically the same as Alex DeBrincat and Pierre-Luc Dubois.

It's not at all the same thing. DeBrincat and PLD are already restricted free agents. They can choose to negotiate with their current teams (or go to arbitration)., but they are also free to contact any of the other teams to try to generate an offer sheet. Helly has one year left on his contract, period. If he wants to play hockey next year, he will do so for WPG or whatever team WPG decides to send him to. His only leverage is that he can say he won't re-sign after this year.
