Something Habs fans miss when discussing Connor is his speed. He's a top 10 skater in this league and for a GM like Hughes who has gone on record saying he wants to build a fast skating fast decision-making team, Connor is just a perfect fit.

Winnipeg passes, Not even close to getting Kyle Connor out of Winnipeg.

Detroit passes as well, We'll get two solid players both at #9 and #17. Though i would love to have the chance of getting Michkov at #5.

and After Monahan signature... + Dvorak as a backup C... waiting on Beck to be ready... we need more a REAL TOP WINGER 1PPG that can support the kids.
and I would bring back Toffoli

Rumours says that Detroit & Nashville are HIGH on Michkov... where MTL are not. Even if you don't agree the value is fair

Has to be a can’t say no offer, still 3 years on contract, so probably a season to see how quick the jets can come back as contenders. Then possibly easier next year to try and get him. This year would have to be a buy high and overspend. 5oa would have to be involved to swing it this year.

Your nutty GM would say no if we offered 5 OA... He's in a competitive window in his mind.

I'd be surprised if Yzerman used the #17 pick to move up in the draft for Michkov, Pretty sure he uses that for either DeBrincat or Konecny in a trade. but we shall find out in about 60 hours or so.

That's a rather significant overpay just to trade down, no need to add Ferrell in there.

Via athletic draft pick value chart:
- 9th + 17th = 10.8
- 5th + 37th = 10.5

The teams that's trading up usually pays more to do so.

Slowly say no lol, you would have to entertain 5 oa, no matter what in my mind, pulling a Center to join the last two picks from last year would be huge along with 18 this year. Only thing I wanted was another first or improve on 18, not looking like I’m going to get it.

MTL will need at least 2 1st round picks for WPG to bite. Farrell is a good prospect, but Harris is just ok. Neither will make up for the loss of Connor, which is where the picks would come in.

Based on your DET trade, WPG would want 9, 17, Farrell, and probably Beck to get Connor.

Still fine by me.
I'll even add a 3rd to get that 31!

5 OA is too much and we all know this as the CAP won't raise that much... TOP 5 player in this year draft as toooo much value.

Wanted and would get is the difference
Heard that no 1st for PLD return from LA... so It is ONE big piece (Player or good 1st round pick)+ added value is the right value.

Jets don’t need to sell, so you’re going to have to blow the doors off, Chevy needs something rather shiny to sell a conner trade to the fanbase, not a quantity package. Year early for a Connor purchase.

Difference between PLD and Connor is contract length. Connor has a couple of years left, while PLD has 1. WPG could hold out Connor until next year, they aren't forced to do anything right now.

And depending on which rumor you believe for PLD, either Villardi or Byfield along with others are heading to WPG. MTL doesn't have someone of that ilk available to trade, maybe Dach + if you want a closer comparison. So if a guy that has 1 year left on his contract is commanding NHL players, imagine what a guy with 2 years left on his contract (plus, is a top player in the league) would command.

I'm good with this deal if I'm WPG.

Connor for Dvorak, Harris, Kidney and the 2023 1st round pick (NYI) is too good to pass up. The Jets need to be rebuilding / retooling. Connor in the right environment is a top scoring winger. But, I'm tired of his inconsistent play and like Scheifele, does NOT like to play a 200' game, doesn't like to check or go into the corners, etc... The Jets need more beef and to retool/rebuild.
