Take it with a grain of Salt...

Obviously not gonna happen - KH doesn't seem like the type.

Basically, only Slaf, Ghule and Michkov would be open to a possible counter OS by these teams.

That's one way to make some enemies haha, realistic offer sheet targets though, it would be crazy if there were some more this offseason.

Lafreniere OS needs to be 1 year × $4M+ (max you can go with that compensation). The higher AAV is the only way you might be able to get him out of New York, also 4 years would take Lafreniere to UFA status which isn't a good thing.

Yeah - I guess a KK scenario would be better to make it work... but it's definately a way to alienate all the other GMs.

Hab fans have learned nothing from being embarrassed by the Canes after they offer sheeted Aho I guess. Good luck with your offer sheet nonsense.

The AHO OS was about the Cane not having the cashflow to pay... which is hindsight is a dumb assumption.

An OS based on the Cap space is much more dangerous.

Would be a tough call for the Oilers as the Habs are a bottom 10 team next year but I think they match just to hinder any future OS their way. If the Habs had their 2nd, this could be a different story as another few million would be impossible for the Oilers.

Oilers would match this but wow there would need to be some cap juggling afterwards.

They'd have to seriously consider asking Nuge to waive. Foegele, Ceci are gone for nothing! They'd probably have to buyout Campbell. It would be a mess. But those hard choices might be beneficial in the end. Add the 2nd rounder and the Oilers could absolutely find an alternative to Bouchard and their cap would be in good shape. Imagine they dont match and bring back Barrie. Hilarious. Then they get to draft one of the many RHD in the next years draft. They are about 6 RHD in the projected top15. The Habs would be doing the Oilers a favour but appearances matter to organizations, too. They match not to be bullied.

Not quite that bad, Yamamoto, foegle and kulak would do it and allow space to sign million dollar contracts for the bottom 6.

That wouldnt be enough. Kulak would be tough to move with his term. You're probably paying there. If you are squeezed Foegele has no value same as the Nucks saw with Garland/Boeser. They also dont have many options for cheap deals besides signing Connor Brown to about 1.5M. You still overpay to play in Canada.

The point is the offersheet was not successful and only brought on retaliation by the Canes, who made the Habs look foolish. That's why offer sheets are rare and almost never work. But hey, you want to repeat the mistake, go for it. FYI...Jeff Gorton doesn't use offer sheets so good luck to Hughes getting approval to try one.

the KK OS worked did it not? Habs were not willing to give him 6M and KK wanted to leave the organisation. MB was too proud to do the right thing.

Yes, the KK offersheet did work, the only one that has in over 10 years! Like I said, go for it, see what happens.
