LAK traded Durzi because they had too many young quality RD and they have very little cap space. They would be about the last team to take Rutta.

You forgot to add 2023 Torontos 1st round pick and Pittsburgh 2024 2nd Round pick and retaining 50% of Ruttu contract.

Jan Rutta would be our 7th defenseman. Due to the Gabe Vilardi trade, Arthur Kaliyev is now our #3 RW and may replace Viktor Arvidsson next season as #2 RW when Viktor's contract runs out if we don't re-sign him.

They traded Durzi because he is up for arbitration at the end of 2024 and they would not be able to afford him. Rutta brings something different and is locked in at a same price for the next two years. Kaliyev has also been stuck in the bottom-6 in LA and needs more of a shot imo.

I seriously hope they do trade for him. He's no better than Friedman or Ruhwedel at three times the price.
