I’ll take positive regression from Joseph + Grieg over those contracts to JVR and Engvall. Take the extra cap and subtract Zadina to pursue a better top 6 option. If Winnipeg agrees to that deal I’m all for it.

Wouldn’t pay hamonic that much

- Bringing back Hamonic for 2 years is very Dorion like and is more failing

- Don't see a need for JVR and Erne. Engvall yes although I'd like his AAV to be under 3.0

- That DeBrincat trade is not very good for the Sens. The 2 picks are fine but Zadina is almost useless for Ottawa and Lindström is going back to Sweden, so you're getting him for no reason

- Getting Hellebuyck for next year is great but after that? He'll be 31 y/o in need of his last big contract... Trading Forsberg is a mistake and trading yet another 1st round pick is not ideal

I don't see how being Dorion like in the thread is a bad thing, given being realistic is attempting to make a build based on what will really happen lol. We all know that fans want one thing and GMs do another. I think Hamonic will probably be back for more than fans want.

Yeah this could be realistic as to what will happen. But you're not predicting what bad moves Dorion will make that will end up in us doing 1 step forward 2 steps back. It's impossible to see it coming. Like Nick Paul + Connor Brown for Joseph + picks or Gustavsson for Talbot.

I would imagine that Detroit accepts.

Fat chance of Connor Hellebuyck remotely having any interest in the Ottawa Senators.
