Description

The PLD trade makes it extremely difficult to sign a compliant roster. The Kings will need to make both Grundstrom and Lizotte available. JAD will end up taking over Lizottes role, and we will fill the forward and defensive roster with prospects and cap minimum vets.

The only goalie at a minimum who might make sense is Matt Murray if bought out. The Kings have his old goalie coach and it gives him a real chance at a cup. The Kings just need average goaltending from this duo to make it to the TDL for the real goalie they will use in the playoffs.

NMC, and the PLD trade was to help center depth due to Kopitars eventual departure. Won’t see a Danault trade unless the Kings are rebuilding.

Byfield has only thrived in the wing position on top-6 minutes and Turcotte has about 12 games played. Wouldn’t do it even if he didn’t have a NMC.

Read above. This goaltending just needs to get them to the TDL, and Murray was much better when he was under his goalie coach with the Pens, this is the Kings new goalie coach.

I can't help but think LA will be looking at one of the Vegas goaltenders. I doubt they let Logan Thompson go, but Laurant Broissoit might be a cheap option that has experience in the division.

Yes, but he’s not alone, Kopitar and Doughty pushing for a retool over a rebuild were also responsible for where we are now.

I’ll try to stay optimistic. If PLD is Jeff Carter 2.0 this team has a decent chance at getting out of the first round. But we will need a a goaltender.
