I didn't mind the return for Toffoli. It's easy to forget that he probably isn't going to replicate last season's numbers year after year from now on, even with top linemates, and was a UFA to be who wanted out anyway. Maybe Sharangovich and a 2nd would have been nicer, or Holtz and a 3rd or 4th, but it wasn't bad.
I'll disagree with Mox on the 3rd OA not being as valuable as a "non-tradeable asset", say ... after Bedard, the next few picks at least are predicted to yield "franchise players", and those don't get traded usually for 30 year old players unless it is a "win the cup this year or next" need.
On the other hand, a team needing a top six center who is good enough to be a number one (let's face it, the players didn't enjoy last season, for the most part. Several took a dip on that account), and is looking to win in the next few years, would get a premium asset in Lindholm, a dual threat who can score goals, play bumper on the power play, is as defensively responsible as anyone.. he'll be worth more than three or four average assets.
