I highly doubt Florida actually moves Lundell, but I've seen rumors of them being in on Hanifin and he's really the only interesting piece they have

Odd valuations…don’t think you get that much for a Lindholm if it’s 3rd overall plus 2nd plus Ceulemans. Too little for Hanifin and Backlund mainly because Flames owner won’t let Conroy retain that much money

It's the CBJ 2024 1st unprotected, not today's pick. And according to the Calgarypuck rumors (yeah I know lol), Conroy has permission to retain for one season. My thought is Lundell is an overpay for Hanifin, but then Duclair + 2nd in two years is too little for Backs, so the two deals kind of balance out.

Try sites like Flamesnation, TSN.ca, and definitely not that one!

You really can't scout Florida for their most interesting pieces when Hanifin's value is at an all-time low. A year from UFA and wants out...

Yeah fair, but if the Flames are offered nothing but crap they’ll just keep the all their guys and try to compete this year. Maybe trade him at the deadline when gm’s are convinced they’re one piece away. Florida doesn’t really have any other attractive pieces to acquire quality players via trade, so probably not a good fit for a trade the rumors never made any sense to me

The thing I find interesting about the rumors is reuniting Duclair and Huberdeau. They were amazing together in Florida. I guess the main thing about these rumors is Duclair to the Flames, not Hanifin to the Panthers

Yeah that part makes a lot of sense. Giving up like a 3rd round pick or even Zadorov. I’m not sure who would be the best option to centre Huberdeau on the Flames roster on a hypothetical line Duclair, I thought maybe moving Dube back to centre since his game is kind of similar to Bennett’s

Yeah. The 911 line in Florida was amazing, our best line in 21-22. If you could find a center like Bennett in between of Huby and Duke would be massive. That would also put the worries of Huby's bad season to rest.

But I guess the center shouldn't be a winger moved to the middle since Huby and Duke both like to steal for offensive game. Maybe Backlund?

Well I thought Kadri would’ve been a perfect fit with Huby last year, but they were bad together. Probably didn’t help that Sutter gave them Lucic as the third on their line. Backlund makes sense, but he’ll likely be gone soon and is deployed in a more defensive role anyways.
I thought Dube made sense because he’s fast, played centre in junior and the AHL. He’s been basically been used the same way Bennett was before we traded him

Yeah. Tbh I only suggested Backlund since I don't know much about the Flames, I just follow the Swedish guys. Also, when times were tough we played Barkov there. We also tried Reinhart and other wingers but they didn't work out
