Description

Make a trade for a stop gap Center to take the pressure off Fantilli coming in as an immediate 1C. Two years of a a reasonable cap hit for a guy who deserves a strong support system in Kuznetsov. I think loading him up with guys like Marchenko, Chinakhov, Voronkov, and Provorov gives him a nice cushion of countrymen to hang out with in a very laid back city. Not saying Washington doesn't support him, but Columbus is certainly easier to relax in.

Partially clearing out some of the logjam by sending Roslovic, Bean, Peeke, and Foudy for a temporary #1C and Logan Cooley. Still need to make more room for Chinakhov, Sillinger, and Voronkov, but I have all of them starting on a line together in Cleveland to start the year and all of them can be brought up at the same time when space is available. Same with Danforth. Next on the list to go is Boqvist and Bemstrom, but that still doesn't open up enough room.

Mantha can be dealt at the deadline, or whenever Voronkov is ready to come up to take that spot, now that his contract is manageable.

May need to add to the Coyote trade, but I'm unsure what the actual price would be for a guy who may not want to sign. Swap Bean for Boqvist and add a higher pick if necessary?

Additional Details:

Not sure on value on a 1C who may/may not want a move anymore after the whole Hayes half retained for a 6th deal, but moving him to a team with a lot of young Russians could be a nice support system. There are a lot of good prospects still on the board and I would like for The Jackets to at least try and take Hrabal/Haltunnen/Brindley but it looks like they're keen to move this pick today.

We'll go halvsies on Mantha to alleviate some salary and send a higher pick since it looks like he may be a cap dump. Not sure. Caps fans, please weigh in and let me know what you think their value is.

If he's not going to sign in Arizona, then it's time to move him. Obviously this means him signing in Columbus. Future 1a/1b Centers with Fantilli for the Jackets and I think this could be something really special for the next 10 or so years.

All three are on team control and Arizona needs all the control they can get. Jackets selling high on Foudy, who seems to have finally come into his own last year and I don't want to lose him, but he would be a really good addition to have next to a guys like Crouse and Geunther. Two defensemen who can play up and down the lineup added as well.

Understandable.
I just see a recent top pick who has progressed well is worth quite a bit. Probably looking at a first, boqvist sillinger etc. he’s still a top 10 prospect in the league and arizonas centerpiece for their rebuild. I think he’s unsigned is they want to bring him in to a more solidified roster. Not their current band of merry men on the way out of the league.

I'm also not sure that ARZ trade is enough, but agree, it's hard to value.

I wouldn't be opposed to Kuz but I don't think Mantha adds much if anything to this roster. That's a lot of retention that WSH would probably try to avoid, and I would also rather see CBJ use 34 OA than trade it for a stop gap, declining center.

The rest of the league outbids you on Cooley, got to be at least a top 60 pick in the return, random abundance of quantity isn’t going to pull much, even buying the bottom of the barrel ufas compete with what you are offering

With caps likely to no longer move kuzy itll cost a lot more especially with retention.

Plus Mantha half retained has positive value.

Its at least a first for this trade
