Not for that garbage, And i'm sure that Hanifin is just dying to go to the oldest team in the NHL.

I wonder if Florida would send Duclair back. Probably we'd have to add, but they do need a D. It could make sense.

I thought Hanifin would go for nothing less than a 1st, but seeing the Taffoli trade made me think there's a chance he goes for less. Just going to be a matter of whose the highest bidder out of the teams he'd approve

Apparently he said he'd sign an extension with us and approve a trade

He would probably rather go to perennial rebuilding red wings im sure . Why play with sidney crosby when he could just golf every spring

I know I've been saying the Bruins would take a 2nd for Ullmark, but that was a 23 or 24 second. I don't think they'd do it for a 25 second... they need to restock the cupboard now, and that extra 2 years will make a difference.

and to clarify Rossi noted this is per a source close to Hanifin who was "granted anonymity to speak freely on the situation"

Yeah well he's going golfing if he signs with Pittsburgh. Couldn't even beat a trash Hawks team at home. Plus Detroit has like 22 LHD within our organization. So we've no interest in Hanifin.

Hanifin is worth more than Toffoli, and Sharangovich had similar value to Dube who I would say is worth a late 1st

I don't think Sharangovich or Dube are worth a late 1st. Mid to late second I think. I agree Hanifin is worth more, but if he has a restricted list of teams he would approve then that kind of limits the value the Flames could get.

Odd that Detoilet isn't on his list. Oh that's right, he's American and knows what a cesspool Detroit is.

I hope he tells Conroy FLA, BOS, PIT are the only three teams he would extend with and drives the trade price down faster than the Detroit real estate market.

Please remind me when the last time Detroit was actually relevant 😂 or how many cups they’ve won in the cap era. I mean dang your crappy team doesn’t even have a 1st line 😂

We were awful last year. Don't think anyone will deny that. Didn't deserve to make playoffs.

My opinion, based on what I've seen and the press conferences, is we're giving it one last shot, trying to get a little younger, and if were bad still will probably rebuild starting at trade deadline. Think it's worth one last shot with a good GM.

You don't think a 40-50 point player 25 and under is worth a 1st? Did we not just see Hronek traded for the 17th OA pick a couple months ago? What about Tanner Jeannot or Brand Hagel? Christian Dvorak got traded at 25 for a late 1st and a 2nd, Anthony Mantha, Brandon Montour, Kasperi Kapanen, Ryan Hartman. Seems about right to me

As for this "restricted list of teams" that really doesn't mean much when the demand is high, he has his 8 team no trade list and thats it.

Do you really think the return will not change based on Hanifin's interest in extending? If Hanifin is deadset on going to UFA, then offers will obviously be lower without the team having a sign and trade in hand. Conroy can either have a Tkachuk or a Gaudreau departure. Choose wisely as it appears he has quite a few of these to do.

He has not said anything about wanting to go to UFA specifically, he has said he wants to play for an American team. Whether he's submitted a list of teams that he will sign a long term deal with or not really doesn't change his trade value as long as it's more than 1 and multiple of those teams are interested. I am very confident in saying Pittsburgh is very likely not the only team he's interested in signing with

Doubt it being a matter of mutual interest so much as cap space. Same way it went with Kessel. PIT just happened to be the only team of 8 that could afford him and had any spot in the lineup. Not saying it'll be the same as I am not sure PIT can afford Hanifin either. But I'm pretty certain PIT is better cap wise than most above average US teams too.

Maybe but when a team is trying to make a change they find ways to make it happen. Depending on Lindholm's decision Calgary may not end up wanting futures for him either. With Hanifin though, can can only block 8 teams, not allow 8 teams
