If your agent stops at what you did on the oilers side of the situation, you should blast him into the sun and sue him. If you think somebody is going to give up 30m guaranteed or even go by an annual basis, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.

The right response is to show what he’d likely make after the bridge and hope that it comes close to what an existing offer on the table is. If it’s a couple million over the same amount of time and he loves the situation and city then that makes sense. Anything substantial isn’t happening, I don’t care what a player says about loving to play for your team or being in your city, especially a young player who hasn’t been paid yet.

An agent's job is supposed to get you paid and more playing time. Top pair on the Flyers gets him more minutes and more money. He's gonna take more ice time and more money. Plus if he signs the offer sheet and Edmonton really want him, they'll match and he gets his payday.

Luckily for him, the Flyers aren't in any position to Offer Sheet players, so you don't have to worry.

Don’t necessarily disagree, especially given the retention but it would likely be elsewhere at that point. On the other hand CAR doesn’t need the retention so can take that out too.
