Dubas laughs through the phone as he counters with only if Granlund is going back.

There's no way PIT is taking on that albatross contract of Trocheck. Quality player on a terrible contract. Sending Granlund- a disaster contract of his own- back to NYR would offset the value disparity of your proposed deal.

We have no desire to take on Trochek for 6 years and give you a 1st Rd pick for what would be a 3c unless something that benefits us also occurs. That would be including Granlund or Petry

This is Drury we're trading for, not Bedard. We don't need to give up a 2nd to get him.

60+ point player that is like 5th or 6th in the league in FO% for guys taking over a 1000 draws - $5M isn't a terrible contract.

Won't be playing 2C minutes in PIT. His current cap hit isn't terrible. He shows any age decline and it'll be terrible. No way Dubas should be offering a 1st to bail Drury out of his cap mess either. Either take a worse trade value, or Drury can enjoy the cap predicament he created.

He is a better 2C option over Malkin.
