He pretty much made it a million times harder for any rookie to make the team and stacked the roster with depth

I’m guessing he wants to let them develop for a year and then I skert them onto a more competitive team?

What did you think of Verbeek’s Gudas and Killorn signings?

They’re not bad , Anaheim had a lot of cap space tbh, I like the signings but the AAVs are a little high. I noticed players were either overpaid or underpaid tonight

I saw somewhere saying Killorn’s value was right on but I think it is like 500k and 1 year bigger than I would have hoped for — Gudas is fine for me since his deal is up as soon as we have to pay both Zellweger and Mintyukov and the cap will likely be 90+ million so it should be all good there

Grand Rapids was a really bad team last year. I think he wants them to go and have a good year there and hopefully turn into a winning team there. Giving them all most of a season to develop is a good idea in my opinion. I've actually been preaching that for quite some time. With 5 expiring contracts some of the young guys should get some playing time after the deadline this year. There was no plan to try and be a playoff team this year I don't believe. The plan is still to draft and develop the team he wants. I've been saying 2-3 years and this is looking on par with that. I don't think he wants to tank though a we have already seen. Build a team that at least competes so the young guys on the roster still build confidence.

You're missing players....

Veleno will be re-signed (RFA with no arbitration rights= not that expensive). He's their 4th line centre.

6'6" Tim Gettinger who is probably going to the AHL.

But 6'2" Christian Fischer (signed to the Wings per Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports) is definitely an NHL player. He'll be a 4th line winger opposite Kostin.

Barring a trade, all your lines are screwed up. Zadina will be on the 3rd line probably with Rasmussen (who is better as a winger), and Copp. Fabbri is probably a 2nd line winger (until he gets hurt again). Jonatan Berggren's waiver exempt so he could very well be forced down to the AHL (even after his play last year).
