That doesn’t even get talks about a Nylander trade started.

A Nylander deal would be built around the same type of deal that Tkachuk was traded in - roster players going back to Toronto and an extension with Nylander. So with that in mind, if Carolina doesn’t start the call with Pesce’s name being in the deal, Leaf’s will find another team to work with.

I think his deal will be closer to what the Canucks got back for Horvat... a top-six guy, a prospect, and a first. Nylander is much closer to Horvat in terms of skill than Tkachuk. Both Turbo and Rees will be roster players next season on a big league squad

but like how does that help toronto in any way? they want to win, a dowgrade in offense wont help.

Yeah, but a massive upgrade in defense in Turbo... Turbo is one of the best defensive forwards. Turbo will also help your mediocre PKers.

Not even close for Willy; at minimum, Canes offer would need to start with Necas or Jarvis & then add from there

What are you smoking?... A Nylander trade would probably include Skjei/Pesce and Turbo... Necas & Jarvis are the future and don't fix any problems for you

The Vancouver deal wouldn’t have any affect actually. You can argue Nylander’s skill all day, but at the end of it what matters is that Toronto is contending, not looking to retool or rebuild like Vancouver is. Hence why they need roster players - like the Tkachuk deal and not the Horvat deal.

And by fair you mean grossly benefiting Carolina. Absolutely ridiculous to think this gets Nylander

I mean what about Skjei, Turbo, and Drury? That's a Tkachuk-like return. You get a pretty good PKer who can slot in Nylander's old slot. Skjei was a very good offensive defenseman who is average to above average playing defense and a depth player in Drury

And it would be a lot on top of Pesce.

Nylander is better than Horvat, you are just dying to win a Nylander trade by a huge margin.

me team? leafs were top in pk last, how is that mediocre? if they wanted to upgrade their PK their, there better option that wont cost an 86 point foward.

a foward that produce like that is more valuable, the canes need difference makers and they cant seem to find any cause they are too cheap to try to get some. the window of their cup my close on them without one because of a GM too afraid to pay more than a 3rd round pick on improving their team.

Issue there is that Toronto doesn’t need another left handed defenceman - they need a right shot. So Pesce is the starting point

Apparently you don't watch the Hurricanes... Skjei was one of the top scoring defensemen... Turbo is an elite Pker

Huberdeau and Weegar are miles better than Turbo and Skjei, Carolina fans are just ridiculous. This is Habs level homerism

Ummm... Skjei plays very well on his offside... he's done it more than once in his time in Carolina... he can more than slot into his 1RD

Your special teams had a combined ranking of 22, the Leafs were 14. That is when you add your rankings together. The smaller the number the better. So we don't need any of your help. You need Nylander.

It would likely be Pesce + Tervainen or Necas + picks.. the player would depend on what types of picks Carolina is willing to send - if they’re willing to send a 1st, it’s Pesce + Tervainen + 1st. But if they’re only willing to do a 2nd or a 3rd round pick then it’s Pesce + Necas + 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Jarvis is likely pretty high on Carolina’s value list because of his ELC and probably wouldn’t be in talks.

No it's not... You just don't watch the Hurricanes... Skjei is better than Weegar... what are you talking about... Skjei is a very good two-way defensemen and Weegar can score to save his life. I will admit that Huberdeau is better Turbo but Turbo fits your needs

Yah but your PK was middle of the road... you need a top-6 or 7 to win a cup

… you’re sitting there chirping this other user about not watching Carolina play or knowing them yet you clearly don’t watch or know anything about Toronto. They need a right shot defenceman. I never said a guy to play the right side.. they have lefties that can play the offside (Brodie, McCabe, and Giordano).. why would they move they’re most valuable/available piece for another guy of the same?

It starts with Pesce whether you as a fan like it or not.

What about Skjei, Turbo, Dury, 1st, 2 2nds? That seems like a make up for difference in talent between Nylander and Turbo
