With contract discussions going so poorly in TOR with Nylander why not bring him to WPG for the 1 year and maybe at the trade deadline trade him for future assets.

I don’t like the gambling, Winnipeg always needs a little more security than that in my opinion. Always needs that random pick or prospect to give them the potential to win a deal. Always some team security of some sort. Would love to gamble and get him extended, but probably some sour faces in the rest of the jets room.

If NYlander is asking for 10 no team is going to sign him to that. TOR isn't going to run the risk of losing him for nothing. Treleiving already lost Johnny Gaudreau for nothing when he was in Calgary he wont make the same mistake again. TOR would be getting their stanley cup calibre goalie. Hellebuyck would most certainly sign an extension in TOR. He has said he wants to go to a contending team and TOR is most definitely a cup contender for the next few years.
