I can’t see the Canucks trading Hogs and Lekkerimakki for an expiring Pesce.

I don't think that Pesce is traded anywhere without an extension. We'll see what happens, but I think any of Buffalo or Vancouver are the best Pesce suitors.

Is Conroy looking for win-now pieces? I can't tell what his direction is, but I know that Skjei would be a present upgrade on the likely-to-be-traded Hanifin.

Irrelevant question when none of those are "win now" pieces without a 1st line center

Calgary is in a bit of a pickle with all of these trade requests lol. Good luck to the Flames and their fans.

If we trade Lindholm, there isn't much ability for the flames to contend, so it would have to be futures. We only have Kadri and Backlund left at center, so if Lindholm has to be traded, it's full rebuild mode. That's why they haven't done anything yet: They're waiting on Lindholm. It pretty much sets the stage on what they do next.

Based on the free agency he just had, I don't see Allvin giving into what Pesce's contract demands could be. Signing a 30 year old to his last big payday doesn't make much sense when you've got a bluechip prospect in your organization how profiles to fill a somewhat similar role. That said, I do think Pesce is more durable than most other players of the same mold, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't still be without significant risk

I know what the sentiments among the fanbase are, but I just wonder about Vancouver's ownership and the urgency that they may feel with Pettersson entering his prime years and the pending extension talks. It feels like they finally want playoffs after years of stagnation even if it isn't the smartest play for their organization.

Again, where was that urgency THIS free agency?

They don't have the cap space move to free up yet (aka. the Tyler Myers dump), but the OEL buyout money was fully spent, it seems, on Soucy and Cole. Those are not nothing moves, especially if you think that Soucy has untapped ability to actually play a top-4 role. Putting pieces together, it feels like they're negotiating another salary dump in order to make another transaction.

I don't think management minds waiting the Myers saga out until the trade deadline if they have to. Most of the freed up space from the buyout was used on those two D, but the last of it, and perhaps a little bit of projected LTIR was used to bring in Blueger. I'm sure they're talking with other team's about moving salary around, but I don't know that I would hold my breath for a shoe like that to drop

False info. Toffoli is the only confirmed trade request
