If Jake Muzzin cost a first, a prospect (who is now on the Kings roster) and a Reserve List prospect (who is now a roster player recently traded for a top-quarter second in the 2024 draft), why does Travis Konecny only get Tim Liljegren and The Walking Wounded?

Seattle will not and should not be including Wright in any package for Nylander. He is 4th overall from last years draft. If they do put him in, they sure as heck won't be adding anything else to the deal.

Wright might be a bust there must be a reason for him to have dropped to 4th also didn’t play for you guys last year maybe needs a change of scenery

I am a Leafs fan.

Very few draft picks play for their teams year 1. Including 4th overalls. Marner went back to Juniors his first year also.

To call him a bust or to suggest he could be already is wild.

Seattle politely hangs up. It's the Leafs trying to dump cap, not Seattle. They have zero interest in Brodie, and probably little interest in Nylander.

That would be the epitome of firewagon hockey. Konecny and Bertuzzi are fun, physical offensive players. They are also both defensive black holes.

Because these trades are heavily tilted towards the Leafs?

Larsson to Brodie is to lateral. We should ADD Larsson, but not subtract Brodie. Especially if you're adding ANOTHER terrible defensive forward.

Brodie isn't dumping cap. He is a top defensive defenseman who can play both sides. Some idiot "expert" suggested they may want to buy him out (pure random thought on his part, not a source) and fans decided it must be true. Its insanity.

That Toronto isn't going to be able to keep their core 4 is dumping cap. Nylander is overvalued in all of this because Toronto will not be able keep all four of those players without serious roster re-shaping. No team is going to give up the bank in that situation, and especially if he's not re-signed before they trade because then he just a rental.

As far as Brodie, maybe 7 years ago Seattle would trade for him but they have enough d-men right now adding another one isn't going to help. At this point he's on the wrong side of 32.

There are 31 teams in this league. You are right that cap is valuable, but not to the point of not acquiring players. Cap is only bad ot take on if the player is negative value. Brodie is a good defender who is worth as much or more than his contract. The leafs would be dumb to trade him.

Nylander would be the best forward on your team (unless one of your young'ns get better). You can decide not to acquire him, but I can't imagine Seattle cares all that much about "not helping" Toronto, beyond seeing if it can leverage them slightly better prices in trades.

That’s my opinion he might be he was supposed to be picked 1st overall but he dropped to 4th why we should ask?? Maybe Toronto should add another player instead because like you he might be a wild card
