And what W is that lol. Collecting former Leafs that didn't win jack squat?

It seems like half of the free agent signings this summer are going to Pittsburgh. I guess they're creating some competition for the 4th-line spots and they'll waive the guys who don't make it. Going for quantity over quality, but Dubas knows he has a veteran core and a shallow prospect pool, so why not create a pool of veterans to fill out the lineup?

So…all former Leafs in the league except Phil Kessel?

Ha! Wouldn't that be something if Dubas brings Kessel back to Pittsburgh? He wasn't GM when Kessel was in Toronto, but I think he was in the organization, which means he should know better.

Johnsson hasn’t been the same since his injuries. Still a good signing though. Can’t really go wrong with 800k on a 28 year old who has gotten 43 points in the past.

Getting cheap nhl depth is always a positive, especially for Pittsburgh who tends to get some serious injury problems

hoping Johnsson can bounce back after getting buried in the minors on a well built NJD team. i think with the right linemates, he can put up another 30-40 point season. cheap, short, no risk. good deal by Dubas for a bottom 6 NHL player or, a top 6 AHL player. good deal for both i think, barring an NMC as all details aren't confirmed yet.

Whoever signed him at $3,400,000 was a fool
Whoever signed him at $800,000 is a genius
