Canes decline Necas doesn't go for Ek neither does Pesce. Pesce will go to another team for a player and a pick im hoping

The Ducks trade is terrible. You can't stick "change of scenery" on a young player to justify trading scraps to to get him.

If POJ play slipped badly at the end of the year his numbers surely don't show that.

The Ducks arent giving Lundestrom away for free, and why does he need a change of scenery? thats news to me

Drafting Carlsson hardly changes anything for Lundestrom long term. One of Zegras, McTavish, or Carlsson will be moved to the wing, Lundestrom will be our 3C until Nathan Gaucher beats him out which could be 2+ years away.

Lundestrom has developed exactly as expected when we spent a 1st round pick on him, it wouldnt make any sense to sell him for less than that. Surely he wouldnt be sold for:

Rutta (a more expensive, and longer term cap dump than Kulikov was for us last year who we got for free)
Legare (A prospect who has seemingly not developed at all since being drafted in 2019 in the third round)
Nylander (a 2016 draft pick with 90 games has very, very little value)

No reason for the Ducks to include Moore as this package isnt enough for just Lundestrom. This makes the Ducks worse now and in the future, easily declined

That 3 team trade only makes sense for PIT. You guys move cap and players with little value and a couple non first rounders, and you get back Pesce and Necas. CAR isn’t moving Necas for EK so that’s a non starter and SJS doesn’t get much of actual value back to them.

This is abysmal for ANA, SJS, DAL, and CAR...

The thing is about young players is that they cost a lot more than old players and the pens don't have the assets to make any of these trades appealing for the other side. That's why the Pens should be focused on older discounted players to not waste the last years of Crosby & Malkin by middling out and getting mid-late round picks that won't help much in the future anyway.
