That's not bad, it's definitely something to consider
Cap relief, Top 6 F and Top 4 D, Plus the picks, all things Toronto could use
I'd probably still say no if I was Toronto but, I think it's close.
I'd maybe ask for Oleksiak, Bjorkstrand (signed for 2 more years and younger than Eberle), and 2 1st's, even that is iffy since Nylander is so good but, you're definitely close IMO

That 2nd line would be a defensive liability.

Funny because that’s probably the most Seattle would ever consider giving up for Nylander

Yup no one wants the guy who's scored the 22nd most goals and 23rd most points in the past 3 seasons. What a terrible player to have on your team

Here’s the issue: He’s a UFA at the end of the season

And Tkachuck was traded in a sign and trade last off season, it definitely will never happen again.

And you know that Nylander is just dying to be in Seattle? One thing is for certain, he is a player with a history of digging his heels in pertaining contract negotiations, and sounds as though he's doing as much again. Totally agree, if he somehow comes with a favorable extension, the return should definitely be better. It's the first part I wouldn't bet on!

It's been 11 days, maybe he's just negotiating his new contract with TO.

I think if we went fot Bjorkstrand we would have to switch the picks to lower rounds.
I guess it would depend on ehat Treliving wants but the cap space and then pick to add at the deadline swayed me.

I would rather sign Nylander than tradr him, but if we trade him then this is a return I could live with

Tkachuk was an RFA which is why his value was so absurdly high

In sign and trades involving UFAs, their value isn’t really that high at all

He's a great player, that's why he was so valuable. Great players cost a lot. And guess what Nylander is?

Certainly, they'll get him locked up just in time for Christmas, again! But I'm not sure if that's what you meaning, exactly . . . Are you implying Toronto is keeping him, or that they're negotiating a new contract with the intent on trading him for a good return? Cuz I doubt many players who are one season away from UFA, AND with only limited trade protection, would choose to negotiate in that faith. (?)

All do respect, but if a player agrees to a sign and trade, it's irrelevant whether they are rfa or ufa. That's what a sign and trade does . . . eliminates the acquiring team's fears that the player won't sign or extend in the case of a UFA situation, 1 year out.
