The Flames then have to middling goalies with sub .900 Sv% and little to no experience in the league to mentor one of the best goalie prospects in the league. MArkstrom has been through it and back, I would much rather gamble on him bouncing back and helping Wolf than UPL and Vladar being the guys to sit beside a rookie in the locker room.

If I disagree with the Markstrom deal are you gonna get aggressive again?

This exactly.

Vladar would then be our sole #1 and even though I think he gets very underappreciated by people who just look up sv% he is still not ready for 50+ games a season. Then on top of that Calgary would then be banking on UPL passing through waivers (so essentially a 3rd of the value from the trade could be lost for nothing) or have to keep Wolf in the minors when he should be in the NHL.

and with all the points made above this thread, it is asset management 101 to not sell at its lowest point. flames dont sell markstrom because he had a bad season lol

Calgary should be rebuilding so having UPL play would be more beneficial then having top prospect get destroyed and lose confidence. Why rush Wolf into the league if team will be one of the worst in the league.

Bad take. Calgary will only rebuild if they sell Lindholm otherwise they aren't rebuilding. They also won't be anywhere near one of the worst teams in the league even if they sell. The bottom 5 teams will be (in no particular order) Anaheim, Chicago, San Jose, Philly, and Arizona. They will all finish below 70 points. Calgary may get a top 10 pick but they will finish around 80 points.

If Calgary doesn't sell (most likely scenario) they will probably be a playoff team and finish around 100-105 points

Also Wolf has nothing left to learn in the AHL he's been there for 2 full seasons and won goalie of the year twice

Funny

CGY fans don’t want Cladar to mentor their young goalie,
but they turn around & try to trade him to us multiple times a day to mentor our young goalie

Hypocrisy at its finest 🤣🤣🤣

Also….
I’m still waiting for ANYONE to explain to me wtf i keep seeing Tatar signings for???

That’s a good point, BUT….
they don’t need UPL in net getting destroyed either
They can just get by with Cladar in net getting his butt kicked in

Would it not be better to have markstrom play in front with less chance of being destroyed than UPL and his numbers inflate due to high shot volume so they can then trade him for a better offer than the one?

Assuming his numbers would inflate is a flawed premise
Especially if the Flames are selling off the Vet talent on front of him

Is that kinda nonsense really what you’d consider “fun”?

Markstrom is a goalie who needs to see a lot of action to be good. Usually when he hasn't seen much all game he'll let in a stinker. I think this is a pretty safe bet. Either way it wouldn't be smart to sell him now.

Making a funny remake based on previous reactions from this gentleman to criticisms of his trade proposals?.... Yes
