Broberg. It was just a trade thrown in just to dump Campbell’s 5M so I could do the rest of the moves. I could also sign someone else out of free agency for cheaper, if another team would take Campbell if we also gave them Broberg as well.

And the pens still decline. Rutta > Ceci and cheaper. Why should the pens trade Rutta for Ceci at all, much less 1 for 1 of pay picks on top of Rutta?

Okay, fair enough. I believe they are very close in skill. Ceci is a better 2-way defender, and Rutta is a better defensive defender. Both play critical roles on both teams. It would probably only work if Pittsburgh was out on Karlsson, and they could dump Petry as well. Ceci was good on Pittsburgh, so you never know. Anyways, thank you for commenting! Have a good one.

Overall I think the hawks would maybe ask for a bit more, but I think that's close enough to start the process.

Edmonton would be wise to avoid all these deals. None of them improve the team with the possible exception of the Murphy deal, but that's too high a price to pay IMO.

Fair enough, thanks for your comment! I was thinking of bringing in more experience, and depth. For Murphy, I was looking for a good defensive RHD to play alongside Nurse to make our defence stronger. Have a good one!

I still don’t see them doing it even with that cause they still need a solid 3RD and a solid depth option. Which Ruh moves up to 3RD and leaves us without a solid depth option. And Ceci is also a downgrade on Petry overall at 2RD. Would much rather just have Letang, Petry, Rutta, Ruhwedel down the right side than dumping Petry and having Letang, Ceci, Ruhwedel down the right side.
