LA has no interest in that swap. They couldn't afford the increased cap hit if they did.

We'll exchange one defenseman named Jordan for another, but we're not trading Kaliyev for Harris.

I still dont get why he wanted him?
Its like if your team traded for another Center , i'd be confused.

Jordan Spence fits our needs and he's someone you can build on.
He already started learning French when he was in Moncton playing for the Wildcats
Not that i care but it would probably motivate a lot of our fans who didnt know that.
Granted he's not billingual, he understands some but not enough to reply perfectly back in French, more a Frenglish mix

I don't think the Kings can afford to dump another RHD. They already got rid of Walker, Grans, and Durzi this summer. RHD went from their single strongest position of depth to one of the weakest. If they trade Spence, they're committing to Clarke in the NHL this season, which he may or may not be ready for, and if any of their RHD go down with an injury, then they'll have to play a left-handed guy on his silly side. After what they went through with Durzi last season, I think they learned their lesson.

Dvorak is a cap dump and no one is paying to take out Montreal's garbage. Both pieces coming from Winnipeg have far more value than Dvorak resulting in an easy no from Winnipeg.

How so? The Jets having at least 8 centers better than Dvorak is funny? The funny part is Montreal gave up a 1st and a 2nd for a plug! Now that's funny! awesome face

LAK fans have 1 year left of Waiver Exemption for him
They're as unwilling to move Doughty or Roy as we were Petry or Weber for years.
Brandt Clarke is a Sure thing and what they're missing is LHD as Bjornfot is their Beaulieu

For LHD their needs window is the Next 3-4 years max
They have pieces they've drafted that show promise that should be seasoned by then

For RHD their needs are good
They got Doughty til he retires by choice
Roy to fill in the Veteran role when he does by Choice
Clarke to transition over time into Doughty's #1 RD role
Salin and Sparkes to fight for the last spot in on that roster.
Them and the next draft class they draft to re-stock like they did with LD the last 2 years.
Personally i like Jack Sparkes 6'8 Canadian kid who's big but not a fighter unless he has to be kinda like Chara.
Huge kid who chose USHL path giving him time to put on Muscle Mass the OHL doest afford guys like him.
Smart Development Choices maximize his potential to be a solid Defensive Option for bottom pair who takes up a ton of ice.
Why so much faith? He can skate well for a big man and is technically sound Defensively which is rare at his age, everything else can be taught

LAK fans can back me up on it
I think i trade with them the most.
What they want is a Jordan Harris who can grow with Clarke into that top spot
It makes perfect sense to for MTL as Spence is a perfect fit for us

Thats a half truth
If MTL used that logic we'd have a ton of Centers.
But the reality is if you dont develop them there
You devalue them in that position which is why we stopped considering Drouin a Primary Center for example

Its why Capfriendly Ranks players even by Position
You'll notice Primary Centers are listed as Schiefele , Lowry and Kupari.
Your Secondary Centers are listed as Perfetti, Vlardi, Gustafsson and Barron
Your Players who should only play Center as last option is Namestenkov

You got 3 Centers that are Legit of which you're selling at least 1/3 in Schiefele so you could end up with another 2-3 players including a Center.
So you're deep in the Future but you'll need to break in Centers and tank or fill the hole and worry about winning first.

I mean Dvorak is a bad trade for WPG and a better fit for FLA's needs at 50% off for 2 years.
It address's an issue giving them an upgrade on Staal if nothing else and gives them more possession time with his faceoff win rate being so good even on crap teams.
FLA makes the most sense

WPG IMO should sell Schiefele and let Lowry and Barron lead from 2nd and 4th C positions.
Let Kupari and Vlardi have their shot LAK never truly gave them and focus on growing your youth core win or lose
There's more riding on whether they can form a new core with WPG home grown stars or a complete veteran auction is needed on top of the moves you made and presumed moving of Schiefele.

Lets say Connor doesnt gel with Vlardi but Ehlers does then Connor's stock might fall in WPG(highly unlikely, just an example)

Next season, both Spence and Clarke can have a spot in the NHL. This season, they can't because they don't have the cap to carry 7 defensemen on the roster, so they'll frequently be shuttling Clarke and Spence back and forth to Ontario to get both guys some playing time.

The Kings will definitely not move out 4 NHL RHD in one summer.
