The thread title says "something different" yet contains another Hellebuyck to Buffalo proposal that's just as unrealistic as the 100+ others people have proposed since LeBrun's singular mention of Buffalo being "interested".

Hellebuyck wants a 7-8 year deal. He is 30. He is not waiting til 32-33 to get another big deal. Too many risks involved. He is saying pay me now

He wants 7-8 years around 9.5M. He isn't going to get that. Nobody is going to pay him that much for that long at that age

None of it matters - of all the young players that Adams says he doesn't want to block, Levi has to be at the top of his list. Hellebuyck as anything other than a 1-year rental will appear as a roadblock to Levi, which Adams clearly won't create - and the rental use vs. acquisition cost isn't worth it.

The sooner fans accept what Adams has said he'll do by sticking with Levi and UPL, the better. These fantasies about Hellebuyck, Hart or Gibson are never going to happen.

I agree, however, i assume his agent is telling him that there's no point signing for 3 years, and you might as well hit ufa to maximize your contract. That makes him a rental- unless you wanna pay him whatever he thinks he's worth.

I think the only way Swayman ends up in Winnipeg is if the Bruins cannot get him signed. I'd be shocked if they traded him for roster players. They'd much rather accrue high-end picks.
