That’s a terrible deal for Detroit. Taking one currently bad contract a future bad contract and a late 1st to give up a 25 year old top line scorer? This trade makes 0 sense for Columbus.

Edmonton signed Hyman for a specific role, and he has delivered in spades. Laine cannot play the same role, he doesn't have the energy or net drive to emulate Hyman. Plus he's $3M more annually... I don't think the Oilers would do that trade 1-for-1, let alone adding their 1RD and a 1st too.
