Garland to the Hawks ship sailed once the Hawks traded for Hall and the draft happened. The "interest" in Garland (if there ever was much) would have been to get Bedard a proven NHL winger and to upgrade their multitude of draft picks into a better pick. Hall acquistion and draft having happened closed both doors as reasons the Hawks would have ever consider Garland.

Oh man, I’d really hope VAN declines that one. Zaitsev is not good and trading away the better player and higher pick just to get cap space next year isn’t a good play if they want to make the playoffs this year.
