Dvorak is not the kind of cap commitment the Canucks should make. Barely produces offensively, and is atrocious defensively

On the surface, a first, a second and a third would seem to be an appealing package . . . and it would be, to a team with a dearth of draft picks (especially high ones) like Florida, Tampa or Toronto. But in addition to their own firsts, Arizona has 3 seconds in 2024, 4 in 2025 and 3 in 2026, backed up by three thirds next June and two in each of the years after. So a backup goalie plus four prospects and those draft picks aren't likely to persuade the Coyotes to part with their All-Star forward and starting goalie. Arizona needs quality players now, not picks . . . the Coyotes were willing to trade away what is likely to have been their earliest 2024 second, remember?
