What happened to Marco Rossi? You haven't indicated that Lindholm is anything beyond a rental

Well Rossi still has to pan out. I’d say it would be a safe option to acquire lindholm.

I imagine they should be able to re-sign lindholm.
Zucc/ fleury/Hartman and a few other depth guys come off the books.

I’d prioritize re-signing lindholm first probably like 6-8yrs x 8-8.5mill. Then Hartman next and zucc would be the last on my books I know he has good chemistry with kap but unless he was willing to take a very team friendly deal I’d move on from considering his age and the fact that Minnesota has a lot of guys that can play wing coming up soon ( Ohgren/ Rossi/ Marat/ bankier/ heidt/ Stramel) lots of potential in that group even some other guys like (Beckman/ lorenz/ haight/ firstov/ kumpulainen) could fill bottom 6 roles

Yeah, as much as I love Lindholm, I honestly think Lou Lou kind of skewed over the market for high end(not elite) centermen with the Horvat extension, which is already looking pretty regrettable, not even sure how Lou still has a job, I personally think he should get fired next off-season if the Islanders don't go deep in the playoffs next spring, god forbid should they so much as miss out on them entirely. Getting back on track, yeah, moving on from Hartman and Zuccarello would be sensible if they are both asking for too much money

His development suffered a massive set back when he almost died of covid and essentially missed a year of hockey

He has put up 104 points in the ahl thr past 2 years and should be in Minnesota full time this year i would hope.

He's small and has average, at best, speed. His overall skillset is that of a playmaking wing (Zucc) in the NHL.

He should make the NHL team out of camp due his draft position and the cap issues in MN, but it'll be setting him up for failure. He's not good enough (normal young player adjusting to the speed of the NHL) to be a Boldy or Kap line center. The bottom-6 is are all grinders, and that's not Rossi's game at all.

I’d rather see the wild make a play for Sam Bennett or reinhart.

Hard pass at this price

Minnesota is not an Elias Lindholm away from the cup and he likely gets overpaid on his next deal so even if he’s not a rental, it’s not ideal at all
