I could definitely see Cal Foote wind up in one of Toronto or Vancouver. I'm hoping for Toronto 🤞

In the general scheme of things, I think that T. J. Brodie is more important to you than Calle Jarnkrok.

Right, one of the top defensive RD of last season is moved for "future considerations". Jesus.

Thinking two guys on weren't claimed on waivers are good enough for the Leafs. You really think Brodie waives for Anaheim?

Rielly Smith, coming off a Stanley Cup, went for a 3rd.

Brodie isn't going for that. Leafs would be lucky to get a 7th back.

Brodie will probably be put on waivers and some team will claim him, if he's not part of a larger trade that includes multiple pieces and picks.

7.5 mill in real salary sucks for the acquiring team.

He's more valuable to us putting up stellar defensive metrics rather than "clearing waivers" (not that he would, it's honestly so ridiculous to assume that) or trading him for a 7th?
GM's LOVE DFD's, I'm sure a team would love to acquire one that was among the top RD of last season.

Brad is also likely done tweaking the defense. Brodie isn't going anywhere, and rightfully so. Our fanbase is so lost sometimes.

Treliving tried to trade Brodie when he was in Calgary. I don't think he's a fan of his game. And he hasn't even started tweaking the defense. All he has done so far is add Klingberg and let Holl and Schenn walk. More moves need to be made.

I don't know if hes get a wife and kids or whatever but he might be pacified playing in sunny southern California for the winter while knowing he will likely be dealt to a contender at the TDL

Kinda of ridiculous to Brodie leaves his Toronto roots,,,and hassle of moving a just to go through the same hassle of moving again at TDL Leafs are a contender. Certainly the Ducks have a travel schedule where players are sitting many more hours just sitting on a plane.
