Yup. Sure makes it hard for other teams to bend us over a barrel when we can just do this. Only reason Murray hasn't been bought out yet is because Treliving is likely playing chicken with a team on a Murray trade or a Brodie trade. He set his price and now, accept or I just buyout Murray and call it a day.

Honestly, between running a 20 man roster and getting hosed on a trade (which the Leafs absolutely would at this point), this is definitely the more preferable option. Is there a risk of losing some lower-end guys through the waiver-wire? Sure. But way better than losing actual talent for peanuts.

But also I really want more Leafs fans to keep proposing obnoxious deals that make the team significantly worse. It's really helping me procrastinate grad school stuff right now.

if youre procrastinating it has nothing to do with fictional trades..why did you pick that field of study

I'm a teacher. Doing work over the summer after putting in 10-13 hour days through a lot of the fall and spring just kills my soul lol. Fictional trades are my dangling carrot for finishing a paper lol.

Thanks, man. Wouldn't be a teacher if I didn't love it, so I'm lucky I get to do what I love.

Dude I feel you, my degree is all online as well. And doing it while working is TOUGH. Kudos to you, my friend.

Honest take: Avs got enough pieces this offseason to stay competitive without Landeskog. That being said, I think they are playing the long game for 2024-2025. If we catch lightning in a bottle we've got as good a shot as any this year, but once we either get Landy back or get that 7 million truly freed up for another long-term contract that will be our next great shot at a cup.

ZERO rumblings of that sort down here. But again, our sports market still spends most of their days speculating that the Broncos will sign Zeke Elliot or nonsense like that. The only hockey rumors we get down here are from our (awesome) dedicated bloggers. But I think with Kovalenko officially signing and coming over this spring we would be out of the Nylander stuff.

Mainly true but I think Treliving is working towards a trade that you can live with. Like Jarnkrock for a 3rd or Brodie for a 2nd and a physical big defenceman who isn't terrible

Many of them are not leaf fans just trolls. Like that one guy who keeps sending Nylander out the door for a 2nd and any 40 point player.
