Necas at center?

Necas isn't untouchable, but the centerpoint of the package for him can't be a rental. It needs to be a forward that is either an RFA on expiry or has a lot of term.

That may not be much of an issue though because you want Necas to play C and he is predominantly a RW

The thing is that the canes are in a win now mode with the orlov signing and DeAngelo. All these guys that they signed are going to help win now not the future, Necas helps now as well, but you get a great 2 way forward that can help get passed conference finals into the Stanley cup finals. Calgary trying to get younger and still contend this helps them quite a bit and they get a right shot player back who adds to the lineup offensively.

Unless Lindholm is signing for about 6.25-7mil, I don’t think the Canes are interested in that move. Necas isn’t untouchable, but I am finding it hard to see the Canes trading him. Can’t see the Canes turning down the Backlund trade though.

He can be played whereever he is comfortable I just like him on the top line

I’m too jaded by bringing Lindy back I can’t properly and objective
Judge values. It 100% depends on a possible extension structure. I think center depth Aho Lindy and KK could be quite good for a long while.

I will say, I still think the Canes owe it to themselves to see if they have their 2C in Necas. They are too concerned it will limit his playmaking.
