Geekie was allegedly offered a bigger role than he had in Seattle, 2C
Beech + Boq cycle with brown + greer
I would give up a little more, maybe cut the draft pick to make the lindholm trade work, but this feels fair to me and gets Calgary young LD options

That offer is an abomination. Lysell has bust written all over him, Gryzelyck is a cap dump and Zboril is already a bust

Not even close for Elias Lindholm, Lysell is the only decent piece in the trade. Grzelcyk and Zboril are a joke

Elias Lindholm is one of the most qualified players in the NHL to replace Patrice Bergeron, and certainly the only one who is available. If you want him with $2M retained, you're looking at the equivalent a top prospect and two first round picks, not dissimilar to the Eichel return minus Alex Tuch. The Bruins don't really have a top tier prospect, although Lysell, Lohrei, and Poitras are intriguing. Jeremy Swayman is the Bruins best trade chip, but he wouldn't have a lot of value to the Flames with Dustin Wolf in the pipeline.

Yeah as a Bs fan I don't see how it's possible. Maybe if Debrusk was going back with an extension in place but then we're just trading one weakness for another. Flames will get better offers than Boston can realistically give

Gryz fits their needs, who knows where lysell is valued by league gms at this point but I feel it’s still pretty high. I don’t think the bruins are going to be willing to give up sway or poitras but burning more 1st rders doesn’t seems far from out of the question. Does a 25 first get it done? First and a second? TWO firsts?

I would argue Logan Couture or Sean Couturier could be made available and be qualified to replace Bergeron (assuming Couturier comes back health and in form). Could also make the argument about Scheifele as someone capable of that 1C role.

Everything else I agree with completely

Gryz fits the Flames needs how? The Flames top 6 right now is Andersson, Hanifin, Weegar, Tanev, Kylington, and Zadorov. Gryz is not a need at all. And if the Flames are selling the likes of Hanifin, Tanev, Kylington, and Zadorov to rebuild Gryz being a pending UFA and 29 still doesn't fit team needs.

Grzelcyk only fits if the Flames are trading Hanifin as well, but otherwise I like the guy. I still see promise in Lysell despite his poor World Juniors and overall season. I'd put him in a similar class as Pelletier, Zary, and Corronato among Flames prospects. Mason Lohrei would be a good add for the Flames too since they're lacking in D prospects. The Bruins' 2025 first rounder is tied to the Bertuzzi trade, so I don't think they can trade it. My counter-offer for Lindholm with $2M retained would be Lysell, Poitras, 2026 1st and 2nd.

If I’m Sweeney I say no way on poitras, but debrusk would be in consideration if we can keep lysell. Debrusk or gryz, lysell or merkulov, 1st and a second.

I say let it be a transitional year and see if any of the guys on the trade market this summer make it to free agency. I think this is the first time since what, 15-16 or 16-17 that the Bruins actually have room and the right coach to give the very few top 6 talents that are in the system, NHL ice time.

Merkulov could see at 3C or push for 2C duties, Lysell could slot with JDB on the 2RW. If the Bruins aren't in the playoff picture by the deadline, sell off Grz, Boqvist if he performs, JDB if he's going to walk in free agency.

Sweeney has set himself up to be very flexible with this roster and it should be an interesting year.

If I'm Sweeney, I'm not adding DeBrusk in a trade for Lindholm since you'd be plugging one hole but opening another, and I don't think Lysell is replacing DeBrusk's production this season. If the Bruins are trading for Lindholm, they should be going all in and hording NHL talent. I suppose I didn't address the Bruins cap in the counter-offer though, so one of Grzelcyk or Forbort would need to go to the Flames.
