We don't want to add a 3 time Norris trophy defenseman at an 8m cap hit to our team that's going on a 8 year playoff drought?

That makes it seem like that we're not losing both a '24 1st pick (which means we'll have no 1st in '24) and a phenomenal prospect to acquire a 34 year old.

This is the first time he's played a full 82G in several seasons.
First time ever being above a PPG (was a PPG several seasons ago). He had a career year.

Also, the Boston 1st is tied up conditionally in the Debrincat, & Bertuzzi trades. So, this doesn't work.
