Where's Lindgren ?

I think Calgary needs to look for a trade with Hanafin but, Lindholm and Backlund might resign, they should play out the year and see if the team bounces back from the coaching change

I'm not sure this makes a ton of sense for the Flames. They get older and not necessarily better, since Kuznetsov has been a mixed bag the past few season and Mantha really hasn't had a good year since 2019/20. Lindgren for Vladar is a lateral move and I don't think the Caps go for that given Vladar costs twice as much.

I like the Fehervary addition and I think a simpler trade could be worked out with him and Hanifin. Maybe Hanifn + CGY 2024 2nd for Fehervary + WSH 2024 1st.

Caps would more than likely just keep Fehervary. Lindholm is the more interesting piece here for the Caps, defense is pretty much set for next year.

I agree this trade doesn’t make sense for the flames and honestly I just don’t like it much for the caps. Very hesitant about giving up the higher pick and only acquiring guys with one year left on their deal. Much rather hold onto Fehervary over moving him for Hanifin who is older and has less cost certainty (although is currently a better player).

I dislike the Washington trade for both teams.

Boston has no cap space

No need to dump rooney. He is buried in the minors and barely has a cap hit.
