That would honestly be hard for the Bruins to pass up. But it would mean a pivot from being defense first to more balanced overall. Jokiharju would probably be preferred but Brodie's on an expiring deal so it wouldn't make a huge difference.
The issue of course is Ullmark probably has Buffalo on his NTC, but maybe he really liked it there, who knows.

If I were Sweeney I'd be fighting to get Kulich instead of Ostlund, but honestly the value of the trade isn't bad.

Kulich is off limits. The rest isn’t.

Toews is probably going to retire, I guess?
But nonetheless the Boston trade is terrible for Buffalo. Mittelstadt should be untouchable at this point. I would happily lose Savoie and/or Rosén instead of him and Östlund… Definitely the 2024 1st as well (lottery protected)

No, also some I think they don’t want to lose, but he’s definitely more available than him. Would rather think they would “like” to lose some of their recent top draft selections like Savoie(Don’t see a fit for him at center in Buffalo), Rosén (not sure about his value), Östlund (probably available but think Buffalo rate him higher than other teams). I would try get Savoie if I was the Bruins. He got star upside

I'd take Savoie over Ostlund for sure, as a Bs fan, but Krebs is in that same boat. Top 6 skillset in a bottom 6 role, and not likely to change. I guarantee the Sabres and Bruins would have made a trade already if Ullmark had never played for the Sabres

You can keep overpaid Lyubushkin while we keep Brodie. If you want him, pay up

Boston also easily declines

First Carlo trade I've seen on this site where I think the Bruins would be hard-pressed to decline. Good trade for both teams I would say

Ullmark *supposedly* wanted to stay here,
we just couldn’t agree on a contract
It’s different Mgmt now though, so I’m assuming if there were any hard feelings that it could be smoothed over.

Also, the Sabres are a much more attractive team to play on now than they were a few years ago

Will he waive? Idk?
I’m hopeful though

You sure are making A LOT of ASSUMPTIONS about the Sabres for a person who is a Red Wings & Vancouver fan….

1- NO ONE is going to “pay up” for Brodie. If a team was willing to do that, he’d already have been traded

2- EVERY Bruins fan that has commented on this trade DISAGREES with you, for what that’s worth- and for me, a Bruins fan’s opinion is worth A LOT more than yours when it comes to a Sabres & Bruins trade.
Thanks for stopping by though….

Adams was the GM who let him walk.

Who might be available or isn’t available is pretty much all speculation
I think it’s fair to assume the Sabres would prefer to keep Kulich, Krebs & Savoie- and would be more willing to part with Ostlund or Rosen, both good prospects themselves who were picked mid1st

But i personally don’t like when ppl come on here & talk so definitively about who is & isn’t available like they’re best friends with the GM, lol

I think the overall point I’m trying to make is that a deal between the Bruins & Sabres could make sense AND even be possible- IF - they’re willing to help each other out
To be fair, that’s a big “if”

I’m a Västerviks IF fan not a Canucks or Red Wings fan… But sure they are 2 of my favourite teams in this league. Wild and Sabres are close behind. In general a fan of teams with a history of Swedish players hence Vancouver and Detroit. Also liked Buffalo from the start of my NHL experience

Fair enough
I guess we can just agree to disagree on some stuff then,
bc (obviously) neither of us KNOW what the Sabres GM is thinking in regards to my fake trade 🤣🤣🤣

First off, we're not trading Brodie for free. If you want him, pay up. It will cost a 2nd to dump Lyubushkin unfortunately. One Boston fan does not mean "every" Boston fan. Terrible trade. Three roster players and one C level prospect for Carlo? Laughable

Ostlund was picked 16th in the FIRST ROUND
Calling him a “C level prospect” is absurd

Bye now
Not wasting any more of my time on you or your nonsense

Being picked in the first round doesn't mean anything, you could pick a guy who is supposed to go in the 7th round in the first round. Also, 5'10" and 160 pounds is all I need to say about the prospect
