Because they are getting a promising dmen in return, It’s gonna be a late first and I doubt they manage to get someone better at that rank esp considering it might be a weaker draft; do you expect the leafs to give him away for nothing ?

Why wouldn't the Hawks just use the pick themselves? Couldn't they get a "promising young dman" in the draft if they wanted?

they could, and hope that dmen pans out in 2-3 years. or they get someone whos already NHL ready

I think Chicago would rather have the dman in 2-3 years given they are still rebuilding.

Even if the Hawks do trade Murphy, they aren't trading away a 1st for Lilypad. Hawks are nowhere close to the point in their rebuild where they trade a 1st for a player.

Someone proposed in one of these ACGMs that the Hawks and Leafs trade Raddysh for Lilypad... It was a while ago. I admit I'm still turning that one over in my mind; can't resolve what I think about it!
