How do you have 2 consecutive lottery protected picks?

But those trades are pretty one sided

I don’t think SJ would like that trade. Picks are good but the players would prob need to be young guys

The only issue i see from the habs end is that smith isnt really a prospect they would want. Between ghule harris matheson and xhekaj they already have LD locked down. They wpuld likely need to find a third party for a prospect swap

Easily could

Like if conditions are met for the 2024 pick, then they receive the 2025

Then the Habs trade could have, if the 2025 pick is sent due to prior conditions, Habs get the 2026 1st and another pick

Yeah except the habs might not agree on something like that.

Again, doesn't matter because Jeff Carter says no.

Carter could be bought out and let him sign where he wanted and the Habs would bite your hand off for Ty Smith and a 1st for Dvorak

Carter can be bough out but his full cap hit still stays on whichever team buys him out because he's on a 35+ contract.

There is only one solution on Carter, he finishes the season in Pittsburgh. Just is what it is.

He said he isn't moving is family again.

You also have to realize a team would actually have to want him...
