With Guentzel on LTIR you can accrue cap space which if he's out until the deadline should be just enough to activate him assuming a 20 man roster

Well we know Dubas loves throwing away 1st round picks. Pens aren't very deep in good prospects. He might be more hesitant to trade them.

But you're right. Dubie will be all in to make something happen with the Sid/Geno/Tanger window still open.

Personally, I don't view the Pens as serious Cup contenders. But that's just my subjective opinion.

Petry won't waive for SJ so flip to 3rd team would have to be worked out in advance. Easier for SJ to take Granlund than Petry.

You actually do not accrue cap space when someone is on LTIR, only IR.
