Allen was good when he was a backup. He was less good when he was the starter. And letting Levi play as the backup will ruin his developpement. He need to play as much games as possible

Allen has better advanced stats on a bad year than UPL on a normal year. Allen as Levi’s backup would be prime Allen again. He is insane when he is in a backup situation.

Ok, another example, which is exactly the same situation. Raanta is 34, Primeau is 23. I take the 34 all day.

2 problems with this argument.
1 UPL is better than either goalie you compared him to and 2 Allen isn't as good. So, you're making an inaccurate straw argument.

Raanta is a little bit better than Allen. Primeau is a bit worse than UPL. But similar situation. I take the better player over the limited potential younger one every day

Is Ranta better really also injury prone? I'll take UPL.

But, I really like this comparison @future_gm Price to Levi
Price was 20 yo for the entire 2007-08 season and posted 2.56 GAA 24-12-3 with a 0.920 SV%.
Levi will be 22 in December of next season and has 2 Richter awards and posted 2.94 GAA 5-2-0 with a 0.905 SV% last season as a 21 yo.
Not much different then Price's second year 2.83 GAA 23-16-10 0.905 SV%
Levi just needs to be as good as Price was his second year and the Sabres will be attending the dance at the end of the season with Luukkonen playing 25 to 30 games.
