Zero chance in hell of Connor Hellebuyck signing for 7.5M x 5y extension. He wants to be paid as a top 5 Goalie in the league. Sorokin got 8.25M x 8y Doubt he takes less than 8.25M x 5y

Helly is only 2 years older than Sorokin, Carey Price was around 31 when he signed for 10.5M x 8y with Montreal. And Helly during his career has been far more healthier than Price. He's been basically been averaging around 64 games per season in the last 2-3 years.

The Devils would rather play Vanecek for another year than sign Hellebuyck until he's 38. He'll get more than 7.5m of course but I have a hard time seeing a deal in NJ longer than 5 years. Ideally 4.

Dont see the devils giving up that much for a goalie who will want a big contract that the devils shouldnt do, it will hurt them in the future. Daws is out for half the season. They literally just resigned bastian for 2yrs why would they move him? Just give it up on the devils trading for a goalie stuff its getting lame. The devils window just open and with Helly its closes by alot, cuz of age and tbh he didnt look good in the playoff dont say the excuses dont wanna hear them cuz i can say the same about Vitek.

Hellebuyck wants a big payday (Vasilevskiy’s contract of $9.5m x 8 years). Chances are more than likely he finishes the year as member of Jets and finds his new team as UFA next summer.

If Helly is locked in on UFA…and thus becomes a pure rental…it would be something like Vanecek, 1st and prospect (maybe Daws, Clarke, or similar) for Hellebuyck (at 50%).

I totally agree with you on the term, Helly @ $8.5M x 4 to 5 years is more than fair. Doubt he accepts anything less.

Cause I don't see it, even next summer if he's not part of some kind of "sign and trade" deal this season what team next summer is giving $9.5M to a 31 year old UFA goalie?

Even if he shaves a million off his ask I don't see the team thats going to pony up that much cal space to a goalie, I pray 🙏 to the hockey gawds that team isn't Winnipeg.

No market is paying Helly $9,500,000 he'll be 31 when his new deal kicks in. That's why i suggested personally 4-5 years @ $8,500,000 per season. Perhaps with the right team he takes 4 years $32 million or 5 years $40 million that's still a substantial raise.
