No incentive to move Peeke for a 3rd. Better just to hold him.

No incentive? How about not have 2.75m sitting in the press box? Peeke and/or Boqvist are extra. I'd take a 3rd for Peeke or a 2nd for Boq. Jiricek is too damn good. He needs to play. I'm fine with keeping one and brining up Jiricek when there is injury, but both Peeke and Boqvist don't need to stay.

Yes, no incentive. They don't need that cap for anything else this season and if they're only getting a 3rd, they'd be better off just holding him. I don't have a problem with keeping Jiricek in the AHL for a few months to start the season and I'd rather move Boqvist than Peeke anyway, but a 3rd is not enough for me to move him just because RD is a position of strength. They can absolutely get a 2nd out of a team at some point during the season, so I'm not gonna rush things and take a 3rd.

I get they don't have to trade him, but a 3rd is fair value. Maybe a 2nd but that's only in a unique situation that may never come to fruition. I'd take the pick and relieve a bit of the log jam in front of Jiricek. There's no rushing, he's a stud and should be getting NHL minutes.

I'd take him. He's good for the 3rd pair, hulking brute who hits and can keep the crease clear. He's not very good though but come the playoffs when the refs let everything go, he'll become more valuable. As much as I hate it, you need some of these goons in the playoffs. N

You aren't getting a 2nd for an overpriced 6/7 defenceman.

The move is to hold him til the trade deadline and reap more than a third from a team desperate for a shutdown RD.
